We just received our latest “local” yellow pages book. We noticed that most of the display ads were placed by 800 number companies who just don’t happen to list their addresses.
How can you tell if a merchant is really a “local” business? Does it matter?
- Local merchants will have a local phone number (and perhaps an 800 number.)
- Local merchants list their address!
- Local merchants have a reputation in the community to maintain and thus a higher compassion for the needs of local customers.
- Web sites are even worse! Look for an address – if there isn’t one, there’s a reason.
You will always find our local number and address in every advertisement we produce AND on our web site.
Thanks for supporting local businesses – local employeers and tax payers.
(Did you know that many of the 800 number “florists” aren’t actually “retail florists?” They are companies that take your orders and sell them to actual retail florists to design and deliver the product.)
